Who This Course is For:

This course is for people of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, bodies, abilities, cultures, and life stages who want a more attuned relationship with their nervous system, especially as it shows up in intimacy, sexuality, and connection.

It is for you if you find yourself saying things like:

  • “I understand this intellectually, but my body doesn’t seem to get the memo.”

  • “I override myself, shut down, or lose access to desire without choosing to.”

  • “I want intimacy and aliveness that feel grounded, consensual, and sustainable for me.”

This course welcomes:

  • LGBTQIA+ and queer participants

  • Cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people

  • People in monogamous, non-monogamous, or undefined relationship structures

  • People living with chronic illness, disability, neurodivergence, or long-term stress

  • Individuals healing from sexual, relational, medical, religious, or developmental trauma

It is also well-suited for clinicians, therapists, coaches, yoga teachers, and healers who want to deepen their own embodied understanding and bring more nervous-system awareness into their work.

You do not need prior experience with somatic practices, meditation, or nervous system education. You are invited to meet the material in the way that works for your body, your identity, and your lived experience.

Why This Course Matters:

Our nervous systems shape intimacy long before conscious choice enters the picture.

Arousal, desire, shutdown, urgency, numbness, avoidance, longing, and confusion are not moral failures or personal flaws. They are adaptive responses shaped by attachment, culture, trauma, identity, power, and lived history.

Many people have been taught, explicitly or implicitly, to override their bodies.
To perform intimacy.
To prioritize others’ comfort.
To pathologize their responses rather than understand them.

This course offers a different approach.

Instead of asking you to fix or transcend your nervous system, it invites you to listen.
Instead of pushing toward regulation, it supports awareness and choice.
Instead of assuming a single “healthy” way to experience desire or connection, it honors variability and context.

By learning how your nervous system organizes intimacy and arousal, you may begin to experience:

  • More choice instead of reflex

  • More self-trust instead of self-surveillance

  • Greater capacity for connection without self-abandonment

  • A deeper sense of safety and belonging in your own body

This work does not ask you to become someone else.
It supports you in becoming more you, with greater clarity, compassion, and agency.

What You’ll Receive:

Dr. Renye has a warm, grounded, and professional approach that helps people feel at ease when exploring tender and emotionally sensitive material. She has specialized training and extensive experience working in the areas of attachment, inner child work, sexuality, relationships, states of consciousness, psychedelic integration, and intimacy.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Renye worked directly with children and families in Early Intervention, supporting early developmental, emotional, and relational processes. This foundation deeply informs her approach to inner child work, allowing it to be both compassionate and developmentally grounded rather than purely symbolic.

She holds a Master’s degree in Human Sexuality, as well as a Master’s degree and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.

A Note on Inclusion, Pace, and Safety

This course is grounded in the understanding that bodies are diverse, identities matter, and nervous systems respond within cultural, relational, and historical contexts.

There is no single right way to experience this material.
Your pace, your responses, and your capacity may change over time.
All of that is welcome here.

This course is an educational and experiential offering and is not a substitute for psychotherapy. Many participants choose to engage with this work alongside therapy, medical care, or community support.

What This Course Is Not

This course is not a quick fix, a performance, or a demand to change yourself.

It is not about forcing regulation, accessing desire on command, or pushing your nervous system into states it is not ready for.

It is not psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a replacement for working with a licensed mental health or medical professional. While the material is trauma-informed, it is educational and experiential in nature.

This course is not prescriptive or one-size-fits-all.
There is no single “healthy” way to experience intimacy, arousal, sexuality, or connection. Your responses are shaped by your history, identity, culture, body, and lived experience, and this course honors that variability.

It is not about bypassing pain, overriding boundaries, or re-exposing yourself to experiences that feel overwhelming. You are always invited to pause, modify, or stop any practice.

This course is not designed to make you “better,” more regulated, more sexual, or more relational according to someone else’s standard. It does not measure progress by performance or outcome.

Instead, it supports awareness, choice, and attunement, so that whatever unfolds does so with greater clarity and self-trust.
